Frequently Asked Questions
Everything owners ask about Veken fountains, filters and pumps — answered in one place.
How often do I need to change the filter?
Replace the carbon pad every two to four weeks — at the short end of that range in multi-pet homes or with hard tap water — and rinse the pre-filter sponge weekly, swapping it monthly.
Is the pump really quiet?
The suspended pumps in the stainless models are rated at 25 dB, and the plastic C1 and D1 sit in the same whisper range. If one ever gets noisy, it usually needs a rinse or a top-up of the water level.
Which filters fit my fountain?
Classic and F1 packs share the basket of the C1, C1 Classic, D1 and D1 Pro. F2 cartridges are made for the top-access C2 and C2 Max tanks. The wider pad belongs to the 84oz fountain alone.
Which capacity should I pick?
A single cat is served by the 85oz detachable tank; two or three cats suit the 95oz classic or the 108oz stainless; a large dog or a mixed household is the case for the 7-litre C2 Max.
What is the difference between the C1 and the D1?
The C1 keeps the pump inside the tank and fills from the top. The D1 lifts its tank off the base and drives the water by magnetic induction, so there is no pump to pull out before rinsing.
How do I clean a fountain?
Unplug it, take it apart and wash the parts in warm water with mild soap once a week. On the D1 the tank clips off in one movement; on the stainless models most parts are dishwasher-safe, but keep the pump out of the machine.
My pump stopped working — do I need a new fountain?
Usually not. The P1 replacement pump fits the C1, C1 Classic, C2 and C2 Max, connects over USB and carries its own LED lighting, so a tired fountain comes back for the cost of a spare part.
Do the cordless models need filters?
The 85oz cordless runs a filter like the corded line. The 118oz filterless model keeps fresh and used water in separate tanks instead, so there is nothing to replace — only two tanks to empty and rinse.
Can a fountain run without power nearby?
That is what the cordless pair is for: a 5,200 mAh battery and a motion sensor on the 85oz model, and a sealed two-tank design on the 118oz one.
Are the materials safe?
The plastic bodies are food-grade and the stainless tanks are 304 steel. Wash everything before first use and fill with ordinary tap or filtered water.
